AGRA
Agra enjoyed its golden period when the Mughal Empire reigned over most of India. Though those days are long gone, the magnificent buildings the Mughals built still stand tall today and draw millions of visitors every year.
We will visit the Taj Mahal, Itimad-ud-Daula's Mausoleum (a hidden gem), and Agra Fort. Please note, writing and sketching materials are banned at the Taj Mahal. However, you'll be able to take plenty of photos!
PALAMPUR
Palampur is a relatively quiet and verdantly picturesque town in the Kangra Valley region of Himachal Pradesh (HP). This area is famous for its tea gardens, friendly people and quiet mountain streams.
Palampur will be our base in HP where we will be staying in fully-serviced villas, with plenty of time for painting and rejuvenation.
MCLEOD GANJ
Known as Little Lhasa, McLeod Ganj is world-famous as the current seat of the Dalai Lama. Popular with trekkers and photographers for its vibrant monastries and glorious views, McLeod Ganj provides an unforgettable glimpse into the unique culture of the region that blends Tibetan, Pahari and Colonial British influences.
KANGRA FORT
Overlooking a valley where two mountain streams merge with each other, the Kangra Fort is not only the largest fort in the Himalayas, it is also believed to be the oldest. The first known mention of the fort in written records dates back to the Eleventh Century!
The Kangra Valley is dotted with famous temples and shrines, and, on this excursion, we'll have the opportunity to visit a Jain temple, which is located inside the fort.
